Meet Our Winter Crop: Indoor Tulips
In 2023, we ventured into the world of indoor tulip growing also called tulip forcing. With guidance from the Tulip Workshop, we forced 1,800+ tulip bulbs for the Valentine’s Day and Spring holidays. Our customers were impressed by the high-quality stems and the long vase life of locally-grown indoor tulips compared to traditional imports.
Now in our 3rd year of tulip forcing, we are growing over 5,000 tulips for the 2025 Season for florists and folks just like you. Don’t miss out on the tulip mania and join one of our flower subscriptions !
How it Works:
We use two methods to grow our tulips - crates of soil or trays of water. For soil forcing, we plant the crates in November then place them in cold storage for a few months. When we are ready for blooms, we bring them into our basement and grow them on under LED lights.
That’s it? Really?
Pretty much! Tulip bulbs contain all the energy and nutrients they need to grow a beautiful bloom. Just add a little water, light, and… voilà !
Fresh & Long-Lasting Blooms
The benefits of indoor grown tulips are numerous, for the buyer and the farmer! We can control their growing environment and harvest them right before their peak bloom. You receive fresh, long-lasting tulips that travel a fraction of the distance that traditional cut flowers do.
Incredible Vase Life
With the proper care, your tulip bouquet will last 7-10 days. Our tulips are harvested and in your hands less than 48 hours later, which gives you the longest possible enjoyment.
